ABOUT THE ARTIST: Her diverse style, creative use of formal opera training and Delta blues influence has created a unique sound that makes her a standout among other vocalists. In her first summer of being a professional musician, she hosted the Gulf Coast Songwriter Shootout in the world famous Flora-Bama, and participated in many festivals including the Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival, Mississippi Songwriters Festival, Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival, and the 43rd International Shrimp Festival just to name a few. She is the co-founder and co-producer of the Gulf Coast Songwriter Shootout, and founder and executive producer of the Songs that Save concert series. In 2016, she took on the role of music coordinator for P&O cruise lines. Melissa has been featured on radio stations such as 92ZEW FM live concert series, opened up for several national touring acts, and performed her live album on PBS’s Studio Amped. After spending three months playing in Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji, Melissa spread her wings, and has been playing tours and sharing her music in new countries all over the world.
