The Craft Bar Raises Thousands for Local Veterans Organization

The Craft Bar hosted an extremely successful fundraising event Tuesday, March 24, 2015, raising$9,013.47 for Special Forces Association, Chapter 7, a local 501(c)19 not-for-profit veterans organization that provides assistance to the soldiers and families of the 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) located at Duke, Field. The total includes one hundred percent of all restaurant revenue and additional donations made to the organization during the event.

The event was planned to honor the memory of Chris Kyle, former Navy Seal & author of, American Sniper. Inspired by Kyle, Chan Cox, The Craft Bar owner and local restaurateur, looked for a way to contribute to Kyle’s legacy. “I was moved,” says Cox. “I wanted to give something back to the men and women that experience life-changing circumstances while defending our freedom.”

Special thanks goes to Premier BeverageMaker’s MarkTito’s Handmade Vodka, Spirit of American Bourbon who donated spirits for featured event cocktails; and to Sysco and Heureux Beef who donated food to support our event!

Fundraising Night for Warrior Beach Retreat (Panama City Beach)

The Craft Bar will host a fundraising event the evening of Tuesday, March 31, 2015, beginning at 5:00pm to benefit Warrior Beach Retreat, a local 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that brings wounded veterans and their spouses or caregivers to Panama City Beach for a week of rest and relaxation. One hundred percent of all restaurant revenue received during the event will be donated to Warrior Beach Retreat. Patrons will have an opportunity win door prizes, bid in a silent auction, and make additional donations to the organization.

The event was planned to honor the memory of Chris Kyle, former Navy Seal & author of, American Sniper. Inspired by Kyle, Chan Cox, The Craft Bar owner and local restaurateur, looked for a way to contribute to Kyle’s legacy. “I was moved,” says Cox. “I wanted to give something back to the men and women that experience life-changing circumstances while defending our freedom.”

“We feel honored to have been chosen as the beneficiary of this event and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect” says Linda Cope, Founder and President of Warrior Beach Retreat. Next month, the organization will host approximately 60 combat wounded warriors from across the United States for the annual retreat in Panama City Beach.
