Tell us a little about yourself, your family, and where you grew up:

I grew up in a quiet little farming community just outside of Ponce de Leon, Florida called Bridge Creek. It was a place where you waved at every car you passed and neighbors helped each other out if they were in need. My mother and father were incredibly hard workers who somehow managed to raise me, operate a small cattle ranch, and work in the medical field on top of it all. On the farm I cultivated a love of exploration and outdoors, hard work, and appreciation for the land.

The Craft Bar Raises Thousands for Local Veterans Organization

The Craft Bar hosted an extremely successful fundraising event Tuesday, March 24, 2015, raising$9,013.47 for Special Forces Association, Chapter 7, a local 501(c)19 not-for-profit veterans organization that provides assistance to the soldiers and families of the 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) located at Duke, Field. The total includes one hundred percent of all restaurant revenue and additional donations made to the organization during the event.

The event was planned to honor the memory of Chris Kyle, former Navy Seal & author of, American Sniper. Inspired by Kyle, Chan Cox, The Craft Bar owner and local restaurateur, looked for a way to contribute to Kyle’s legacy. “I was moved,” says Cox. “I wanted to give something back to the men and women that experience life-changing circumstances while defending our freedom.”

Special thanks goes to Premier BeverageMaker’s MarkTito’s Handmade Vodka, Spirit of American Bourbon who donated spirits for featured event cocktails; and to Sysco and Heureux Beef who donated food to support our event!
